Location, Dates, and Times

The 2010 Summer Program will be offered June 7 through June 25 at Arizona State University’s Tempe Campus. All classes meet Monday through Friday. The morning session is 8:30am – 11:30am and the afternoon session is 12:30pm – 3:30pm.

Tuition and Fees

Application fee: $25, non-refundable.
Tuition: $425 per course. This includes all required books and course supplies.
10% Discount of tuition cost for children and grandchildren of ASU full-time students and full-time employees
Early Riser Option: $60*
Extended Day Option: $120**
Additional fees: If applicable, there will be additional fees for lunch and parking. Information will be included in the acceptance packet. (There will be an additional $25 charge on all returned checks.)

Financial Assistance

Programs for Talented Youth does offer a limited number of need-based financial assistance scholarships. For further information, see the Financial Assistance Form.

Lunch Program

Students enrolled in morning and afternoon classes are required to participate in the supervised lunch program. Additional information will be included in the acceptance packet.

Grade Level Placement

Students are placed in courses that correspond to the grade level completed at the end of the current school year. For example, if in school year 2009-2010 the student is in grade 7, that is the grade in which she/he will be placed during the summer program.

Student and Parent Orientation

Students and parents are required to attend an orientation program. The orientation will address key program policies and will offer opportunities to address questions. It will take place at Arizona State University's Tempe Campus on Sunday, May 23th, from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Further information will be included in the acceptance packet.

*Early Riser Option

Students taking a morning and an afternoon class or only a morning class may participate in the Early Riser Option. Early Risers will receive supervised care from 7:30am – 8:30am when they will be escorted to their respective classes. Parents may wish to send juice, boxed cereal, fruit, etc. The total cost for the three-week Early Riser option is $60.00. There is limited space for this program.

**Extended Day Option

Students taking a morning and an afternoon class or only an afternoon class may participate in the Extended Day Option. The Extended Day option provides students with supervised care from 3:30 – 5:30pm. Students will be escorted from their afternoon class. Parents may wish to send a snack. The total cost for the three-week Extended Day option is $120.00. There is limited space for this program.
